Ensuring the quality of KISCO’s products

The KISCO Chemical Testing & Analysis Center has been accredited by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025. KOLAS was established in 1992 and is administered by the Korean Agency of Technology and Standards. KOLAS is a signatory to both Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement (APAC MRA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA). As of 2019, APAC MRA consists of 46 accreditation bodies from 28 countries, and ILAC MRA consists of 102 accreditation bodies from 104 countries, thereby breaking down trade technology barriers and introducing technical standards among member countries through mutual recognition of accredited reports.
KISCO is accredited by KOLAS to conduct chemical tests for:

  • Color fastness to light, perspiration, laundering, water, sea water, chlorinated water.
  • Detection of azo colorants, chlorinated aromatics, chlorinated phenols, formaldehyde, extractable heavy-metals, allergenic dyestuffs, carcinogenic dyestuffs, pH, chromium(VI) in textiles and leathers.

In addition, KISCO’s labs are equipped with various analytical equipment to conduct a wide range of chemical tests related to the performance and safety of dyes, inks, electronic materials, foods and pharmaceuticals.

KISCO is certified to perform a wide variety of analyses

The KISCO Chemical Testing and Analysis Center has been recognized by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) as an internationally accredited testing institution and is accredited to carry out the following tests:

  • Fastness (02.026 Textile): Color fastness to light, perspiration, washing, sea water, chlorinated water.
  • Hazardous Substance Analysis (02.026 Textile, 02.027 Leather):

    Azo colorants, Chlorinated Organic Carriers (COC), Chlorinated Phenols (CPs), Formaldehyde, Extractable heavy-metals, Allergenic dyestuffs, Carcinogenic dyestuffs, pH, Chromium(VI).

The KISCO Chemical Testing and Analysis Center has demonstrated its analytical capability by excellent performances in the International Proficiency Program leaded by IIS (Institute for Interlaboratory Studies) in Netherlands.

Precision equipment for accurate analyses

The facility is equipped with various analytical equipment including NMR, ICP-MS, LC/MS, GC/MS etc. The KISCO Chemical Testing and Analysis Center conducts a wide range of chemical tests related to the performance and safety of dyes, inks, electronic materials, foods and pharmaceuticals. In addition to general instrumental analysis, we conduct physicochemical measurements, test ecological properties and carry out chemical structure identification of substances.

General analytical instruments:

  • Inorganic analyses: ICP-MSD, ICP-OES, IC
  • Chromatography: GC/MSD, ATD-GC/MSD, Headspace GC/MSD, Pyrolysis GC/MSD, LC/MS/MS, LC/MSD, 2D-LC, UHPLC, GPC
  • Spectroscopic analysis: NMR (1H, 13C, DEPT, COSY, HSQC, HMBC), UV/Vis/NIR, FT-IR, Colorimeter
  • General analysis: Karl-Fischer Titrator, Autotitrator, DSC, TGA, Viscometer, Respirometer

Specialist analysis:

  • Physical and chemical properties: color, boiling point, melting point, freezing point, flash point, viscosity, density, particle size distribution, surface tension, water solubility, partition coefficient (n-octanol/water), molecular weight, stability test under acidic and basic conditions.
  • Ecological properties: biodegradability, aquatic toxicity, bacterial inhibition, BOD5, COD, metal content.
  • Chemical structure identification: elemental analysis, inorganic analysis.
