Lbrands Inc., the owner of global fashion brands such as Victoria’s Secret, held a sustainability workshop from November 7-8, 2016 in Hong Kong. The workshop brought together a variety of suppliers to Lbrands working across their supply chain.
The focus of the workshop was the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) program. ZDHC was initiated in 2011 by a group of major apparel and footwear brands, including Lbrands, to develop an industry that has zero hazardous waste emissions. As part of this process, companies have developed Manufacturing Restricted Substances Lists (MRSL) to define chemicals than can safely be used in textile production.
KISCO staff spoke at the workshop, introduced our company and presented details of our chemical test analysis center, our products and our MRSL. This included our K-Plus dyes, developed to reduce water and energy, usage. We also introduced our Synozol Nature Dyes which include a paracholoraniline (PCA)-free black dye.
The workshop was an excellent opportunity to promote KISCO’s products and activities to a large number of attendees and to assist in the development of global Eco-friendly strategies. KISCO will continue to do this, in conjunction with other dye companies, retailers and brands and through initiatives such as ZDHC and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC).
