On July 25, the ‘2019 Korea’s Best Employer in Korea’ Certification Ceremony was held at the Sejong Convention Center in Sejong City, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Job Committee. At the event, more than 250 people, including Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jae-gap, and representatives of the leading companies, were present.

The ‘Korea Best Employer Award’ is a system to select 100 companies that have increased their number of employees and improved the quality of their jobs since 2018. The government awarded certification plaques and will grant preferential benefits. In particular, this year, in assessing Korea’s top employers an analysis of employment growth, searches for violations of the Labor Relations Law, on-site inspections by local labor offices, and in-depth examinations by labor-management organizations and experts were undertaken. This enabled the government to identify outstanding companies. In total, 42 small (30 ~ 299 employees), 40 medium (300 ~ 999 employees) and 18 large companies (1,000 or more employees) were selected.

KISCO was selected as the best company at this event for the purpose of activating youth employment and reducing working hours. As of March ’19, a total of 475 young workers were hired out of 583 workers, and 52-hour TFT construction and reduction of working hours were carried out since 2005 (60h in June 18 → 48h in December 18h 44h). Through efforts such as reducing the ratio of non-regular workers (12 in 2017 (2.4%) to 8 in 2014 (1.4%)), KISCO has been recognized for providing a stable working environment for employees.

Mr. Sang-Ho Lee, Vice President of KISCO, who attended the certification ceremony, said, “we will actively participate in the government’s job policy and will take the lead in creating a work environment that can create jobs and balance work and life. We will be able to support you in a happy working environment. ”
